ABOUT MANNYManny Addo is the CEO of Cincinnati-based Natural Shea Care (NSC). NSC is a black-owned, natural beauty care company with a mission of supporting & empowering the women of Ghana where our shea butter is sourced. In addition to NSC, Addo is also the CEO of Africa America Business Promotion - a company that promotes business between Africa and the United States. In this capacity he organized the first “Africa America Trade and Investment summit” at the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce in July 2018. This event was attended by Ghana’s Minister of Trade, Ghana’ Ambassador to the United States, President of Cintas Corporation, Kroger, Proctor and Gamble, and businesses from Canada, China, New York among others.

About NSCNatural Shea Care is a black-owned business that produces natural, socially & ethically conscious beauty care products. Our main brand is True Shea which contains shea butter at a higher concentration than other products on the market. Natural Shea Care believes in community which is why we invest in our local community (our products are made in the USA) and the community where our shea butter is sourced (Tamale, Ghana). Our founder, Manny Addo, is originally from the country of Ghana and uses his business to give back to the socially and economically disadvantaged women in the Tamale community. Natural Shea Care pays above market prices to these women as part of our fair-trade commitment. A portion of sales are also donated to a community development fund for improving working conditions and other projects such as developing schools, constructing toilets, and providing clean drinking water. In February 2022, we installed a water well to provide clean drinking water.

“After high school, I was posted to the Northern Region of Ghana to serve my nation as a school teacher. In this very remote village, I experienced firsthand the water challenges in this region. Children as young as 6 years old walked about 4 miles in the morning to fetch water, leaving them relatively tired before going to school. When I left this village after a year of teaching, I made a promise to help with the water situation in this region if I, one day, made it to the United States - a childhood dream of mine. In 2022, True Shea installed a clean drinking water well, a valuable resource to the region, which was a dream come true for me. We are working toward building our second water well by the end of the year. ”
